A Christmas Eve High Tea

Celebrate the holidays with a menu inspired by Charles Dickens’ A Christmas CarolDecember is filled with seasonal parties, family gatherings, and jovial get-togethers, and what better inspiration for them than Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. Since the story of Ebenezer Scrooge’s transformation from bitter miser to kind and benevolent benefactor was first published in 1843, it has set the standard for a true Victorian Christmas celebration. Like the ghost of Christmas Present, we’ve conjured up a Victorian-inspired menu for high tea for the holidays. From our succulent Roasted Goose to the double-layer Lemon Cake, each dish hits just the right note. Decorate your table with red linens and traditional greenery, and set out your best tea service. And remember Scrooge’s words in the book’s final chapter, “I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.”
