One bumble or two? Bumble and bumble (once voted one of the top 10 New York salons by American Vogue magazine) opened The House of Bumble, a “center for the craft, culture, and commerce of hairdressing,” in 2004 in a tall black building in the trendy Meatpacking District in Manhattan. Although the salon popularized the razor cut, launching the career of many a famous face, the newest buzz at The House of Bumble is its Bb.Tea Café on the eighth floor opposite the reception area and shop. You don’t need a salon appointment to enjoy breakfast, lunch, or tea with snacks. The café serves croissants, carrot cake, cookies, salads, sandwich wraps, blended juices, lattes, and nine types of Tazo tea bags. Shop here for books about tea and even Mariage Frères Sorbet de Thè and Thè Rouge tea-scented candles and Loukoum teapots. The Zen-spare loft-like setting is decorated with floor-to-ceiling windows on two sides, affording stunning views of the city and the Hudson River. Even when you’re comfortably seated on the huge sofa, you can see the Statue of Liberty.
