Almond Filling

½ cup sugar
½ cup whole blanched almonds
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
1 large egg
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon salt
 


In the work bowl of a food processor, combine sugar and almonds. Pulse until almonds are finely ground. Add butter, and pulse until combined. Add egg, vanilla, and salt, pulsing until smooth. Transfer mixture to an airtight container, and refrigerate until needed, at least 1 hour.
