Fruit Shots

Skewer three different types of melon balls and serve in a shot glass with Honeybush Tea–Infused Simple Syrup to create a refreshing fruity dessert.

Ingredients
  1. 3 cups honeydew melon balls (approximately 1 small honeydew)
  2. 3 cups seedless watermelon balls (approximately 1 small seedless watermelon)
  3. 3 cups cantaloupe balls (approximately 1 small cantaloupe)
  4. 1 recipe Honeybush Tea–Infused Simple Syrup (recipe follows)
Instructions
  1. Toss melon balls slightly in syrup, then slide a ball of each kind of melon onto desired decorative skewer. Place in a small shot glass.
  2. Fill glass with approximately 1 tablespoon Honeybush Tea–Infused Simple Syrup. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Honeybush Tea–Infused Simple Syrup
Yield: approximately 3 cups • Preparation: 5 minutes • Cook: 15 minutes • Steep: 15 minutes • Refrigerate: 1 hour

Ingredients
  1. 3 cups water
  2. 2 cups sugar
  3. 2 (.085-ounce) bags honeybush tea*
  4. ½ vanilla bean, split in half, seeds reserved
Instructions
  1. In a small saucepan, combine water and sugar. Cook over medium-high heat until mixture boils. Reduce heat, and simmer until slightly thickened, approximately 15 minutes.
  2. Remove from heat. Add tea bags and vanilla bean seeds to mixture, and steep for 15 minutes. Remove and discard tea bags and vanilla bean seeds.
  3. Refrigerate for 1 hour before using.
Notes
  1. *For testing purposes, we used Tazo Flowering Honeybush Herbal Tea.
