Although the bungalow that houses Fancy That can accommodate 20 people or more at a time, Sarah and Brad try to not book too many at once so everyone gets proper service. Wednesday through Friday, seatings are at noon or 1:00. There is a two-hour seating Saturday and Sunday mornings at 11:00. Weekend afternoon seatings begin at 2:30 or 3:00.
“One of the things that make our tearoom quaint is that you get the ambiance of being in someone’s home,” Sarah says. Two side rooms off the main dining room offer guests a private space for afternoon tea and, she says, remain in high demand.
Although some customers come to this charming tearoom on Walpole’s Main Street to escape the busyness of life, others find it a perfect place to celebrate life events. “I like to think of myself as a memory maker,” she remarks. “I’m helping people make memories.” And she does it one teacup at a time.
