Iced Irish Tea

Served over Lemonade Ice Cubes, this Iced Irish Tea is a brisk, refreshing sip on a hot day.

Iced Irish Tea
Yield: 3 quarts • Preparation: 5 minutes • Cook: 5 minutes • Cool: 30 minutes

Ingredients
  1. 3 quarts cold water
  2. 12 tea bags Irish Breakfast black tea*
  3. 1 recipe Lemonade Ice Cubes (recipe follows)
Instructions
  1. In a medium saucepan, bring cold water to a boil over high heat. Remove from heat.
  2. Add tea bags. Cover, and steep for 5 minutes. Remove tea bags. Cool to room temperature. Transfer to a pitcher. (Tea may be refrigerated, but that will cause tea to become cloudy. This affects appearance only.)
  3. Serve tea over Lemonade Ice Cubes.

  1. *For testing purposes, we used Harney & Sons Irish Breakfast black tea (harney.com).

Yield: 36 ice cubes • Preparation: 20 minutes • Freeze: 6 hours

Ingredients
  1. 36 fresh lemon sections*
  2. 1½ cups fresh lemonade†
Instructions
  1. Place 1 lemon section in each well of 2 (18-well) ice-cube trays. Divide lemonade among prepared wells of trays.
  2. Freeze until firm, approximately 6 hours.
