An Irish Menu for St. Patrick’s Day

An Irish Menu for St. Patrick's Day

Americans have been celebrating St. Patrick’s Day since long before the United States was a country. The Boston parade has been an annual event since 1737. In Chicago, sanitation workers dye the Chicago River green each year while in Savannah, Georgia, the city’s fountains take on an emerald hue. New York City’s parade is the largest in the world, with more than 150,000 marchers each year. Enterprise, Alabama, boasts the smallest St. Patrick’s Day parade in the country. It consists of one person of Irish descent, who carries the Irish flag one block from the courthouse to the Boll Weevil Monument (that’s a story for another day) and back.

In short, on St. Patrick’s Day everyone is a little bit Irish. So get ready for the annual “wearin’ o’ the green” this March 17 by planning a St. Patrick’s Day Tea with this Irish menu.

  1. My husband and I attended the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in NYC for years and years, he was from the city, I am from upstate NY. One year, we attended the Savannah parade. I am extremely proud of my Irish heritage, even have a shamrock tattoo on my ankle, my husband was Italian, , great combo for a great marriage.

  2. The best thing in food and tea is pairing! You have greaf food and wonderful tea together, without separating tastes. And I really like pictures! I’m getting hungry 😉
