Traditional mulling spices—cardamom, clovers, allspice, and anise—imbue a spreadable honey with fragrance and flavor.

Ingredients
  1. 1 (12-ounce) jar honey
  2. 6 cardamom pods
  3. 4 whole cloves
  4. 3 dried orange rinds
  5. 3 whole allspice berries
  6. 2 star anise
  7. 1 piece candied ginger
  8. 1 cinnamon stick
  9. ¼ piece whole nutmeg
Instructions
  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the honey, cardamom, cloves, orange rind, allspice, star anise, ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Remove from heat, cover, and steep for 10 minutes. Gently reheat honey until it is easy to pour; pour into desired containers.
Notes
  1. • Honey will keep for up to 4 weeks, stored in an airtight container.
