English-style or American, round or triangular, tender or crunchy, scones come in a plethora of different shapes, sizes, and flavors. The one thing that remains consistent regardless of the various specifications or textures is that afternoon tea is not complete without the consumption of scones. Scones and tea, which some might refer to as a dynamic duo, have been paired together for centuries and complement each other beautifully, as the hot beverage aids the subtle sweetness of the scone to create a delightful midday respite. As e-commerce businesses and delivery capabilities continue to grow and evolve at a tremendous rate, companies who sell the traditional British baked good have adapted to follow suit to both stay afloat financially and introduce their product to a larger audience. Thanks to innovative companies and the simple touch of an “add to cart” button, fortunately for us, fresh scones are now widely available and accessible across the country.
