Just a walk from the sandy beaches of the Atlantic Ocean, The Chesterfield in Palm Beach reflects the surrounding area in its style and appearance, while providing an English standard for service and elegant comfort. In keeping with this focus, the resort offers a teatime reminiscent of the Victorian era, from the fare to the well-educated staff. Afternoon tea can be served in different areas of the hotel, with each featuring its own unique theme. When making a reservation, visitors can select from the intimate setting in the library, the lively atmosphere in the extravagant Leopard Lounge Bar, or the sunny courtyard.

Afternoon tea at The Chesterfield, a member of The Red Carnation Hotel Collection, is available daily from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., with advance booking. For $34 per person, the Traditional English Afternoon Tea presents guests with a tiered tray of different sandwiches, such as Smoked Chilean Salmon and Baked Ham and Cheese; freshly baked scones with housemade strawberry preserves and clotted cream; and an array of seasonal pastries, plus an endless pot of one of the 12 teas specially blended for the hotel. For $42 a person, the Chesterfield Champagne Tea creates a celebratory ambiance with the addition of a glass of Champagne to the aforementioned menu. For a lighter snack, guests can opt for the Scones Afternoon Tea for $21 per person, which offers a plate of scones (with the requisite condiments) to pair with a pot of tea. The Little Prince and Princess Tea, featuring peanut butter and jam sandwiches, cupcakes, and ice cream, is a wonderful choice for those wanting to treat their children. The Chesterfield can accommodate those with special dietary requirements upon request and even offers a vegan afternoon-tea menu and gluten-free breads, pastries, and scones.

A unique offering for parties of 15 or more, lessons in tasseography—also known as tea-leaf reading—are fun additions, but must be requested at booking.
