Sweet Remembrances is housed in a post-Civil War, brick row house next door to Rosemary House, the herb shop that owner Nancy Reppert’s mother, Bertha, started in 1968. Nancy’s sister, Susanna, now runs the herb shop. Nancy does all the cooking herself and honors her mother’s legacy by incorporating fresh herbs picked from the culinary herb garden that grows just outside her kitchen door. The tearoom is open by reservation only every Wednesday afternoon and on the first Saturday of each month. It also plays host to a number of special events throughout the year. At Sweet Remembrances, “a bottomless pot of properly brewed loose-leaf tea” is always at the ready, Nancy promises.
