Nyon has wonderful views of Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc, and it was here in 2013 that Anne von Erlack and Aude Scheidegger opened their charming tearoom. The “Tea Box” is a delightful fusion of tearoom and tea store, selling not just teas from all around the world (Vietnam, Nepal, Korea, Sri Lanka, etc.) but flavored blends, such as Green Gingerbread Tea and Indian Chai, along with an eclectic range of teapots, teacups, mugs, boxes, filters, spoons;
 handcrafts and fabrics from China,
Nepal, Mauritius, and Switzerland;
 and stylish gifts such as spices, candles, jewelry, confectionery, honey, biscuits, and jams. Tea is served in a small room with just nine seats. On Fridays, scones with clotted cream are the specialty, and on Saturday, visitors can tuck into a Swiss breakfast of home-baked bread, butter, and jam. English Afternoon Tea is offered once a month, served by a butler dressed in pinstripe trousers, tailcoat, and white gloves. The tea and foods are themed to suit the time of year or seasonal events such as Chinese New Year or Christmas. La Boîte à Thé is an intertwining of tea and Zen, an expression of the words of Chinese philosopher T’ien Yi-heng: “We drink tea to forget the noise of the world.”
