Woodlawn Manor is one of America’s most fascinating historical tea venues. The Federal style manor provides a historic atmosphere for the quarterly “Tea at the Manor” educational series offered by Woodlawn Manor Cultural Park. The picturesque 48-acre park located in Montgomery County, Maryland, is owned and operated by Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC). The park features the Woodlawn Manor house museum, an 1832 stone barn, the popular Underground Railroad Experience Trail, and a late 19th century carriage house that today serves as the Park’s Visitor Center and gift shop.
The “Tea at the Manor” program series, appropriate for ages 12 and up, provides a unique opportunity to have a traditional afternoon tea in the parlor of Woodlawn Manor. Each program features a historically-themed educational presentation and concludes with a guided tour of the historic home. Woodlawn exclusively serves and sells Woodlawn Manor Blend by Dominion Tea of Virginia—a blend of black and green tea with a hint of orange, as a nod to the property’s Osage Orange trees. Light refreshments are served with the tea.
