Treasured Teapot: Old English Beauty

The floral illustrations depicted on Johnson Brothers’ Eastbourne (Old English) teapot adapt to a table set for a summertime celebration.

Founded in 1883, Johnson Brothers was one of the early stars of England’s china-manufacturing community. While the brand was eventually discontinued in 2015—after becoming part of the Wedgwood Group in 1968—its many wares and designs became timeless treasures, many passed down from generation to generation. Produced sometime in the first half of the 20th century, this Eastbourne (Old English) teapot displays a subtle floral motif that is befitting a summertime tea table.
